It is a primary goal of the Métis Local 1935 to create and disburse bursaries in support of their Membership Youth.
Bursary Criteria
Academics and General Qualifications
- Students and/or Parents must be active members in good standing with the Métis Local 1935.
- Priority consideration will be given to full time students with a course load of three or more academic subjects.
- Copies of final semester course marks are necessary.
- Applicants must describe, in essay form, the following:
I. Career aspirations and goals for the future.
II. Your involvement with the Métis Local 1935.
III. Why the bursary is required.
IV. A letter of acceptance for continued study from the accredited
education institute.
Selection Process
The selection process will be administered using the following system:
- Applicants submit their application to our office.
- Upon receipt of the application, and all the required information, the applications will be reviewed by the Bursary Committee.
- Successful recipients are advised of their awards.
Deadlines for Applications
There are fall and winter bursaries, applicants must apply for each semester.
Deadlines for applications are:
Fall – August 15th
Winter – December 15th
